cehryl’s 「Moon Eyes」 Released on 7-inch Vinyl

cehryl, a female singer-songwriter/producer based in Hong Kong, has released her debut analog record on TYP!CAL. The dreamy doo-wop bedroom pop masterpiece, ‘Moon Eyes,’ stands out!

Originally from Hong Kong, cehryl started her artist career in Los Angeles while working as a studio engineer after studying at Berklee College of Music. She has closely collaborated with artists from the North American bedroom pop scene, such as Porches, Soft Glas, Zack Villere, Maddie Jay, and Mulherin. Alongside the achievements of Asian-American artists, she has gained attention in the music industry. This 7-inch record features the popular single ‘Hide n Seek / Moon Eyes’ (2020), released between her highly praised second album ‘Slow Motion’ (2019) and the latest EP ‘Time Machine.’

‘Moon Eyes’ is a dreamy R&B tune driven by old-timey doo-wop choruses, while ‘Hide n Seek’ adds handclaps, insect-like choruses, and breakbeats to a swamp rock melody. Both songs showcase her delicately beautiful vocals and modern sensibility beyond the bedroom pop genre.

The jacket artwork, reminiscent of a Japanese edition, is designed by cehryl herself. The physical release is available only on 7-inch vinyl, accompanied by a download code.
